How to Sell Yourself

How to Sell Yourself

Knowing Who “You” Are

The most important part of selling yourself is knowing your identity. You have to know who “you” are to be successful. Knowing who “you” are starts with setting a solid foundation for yourself. A great foundation to start with is creating a public figure page on Facebook. pubfigsignupHaving your public figure page allows to start creating who “you” are.

Creating Who “You” Are

Knowing who “you” are is fantastic but you have to create yourself as well. The worst creation strategy is trying to be famous. Everyone wants to be famous without being relevant first. Fame will come from your ability to engage your audience consistently.

How do you engage your audience?

Before you can engage your audience, you have to know the identity of your future audience. The questions who, what, and why need to be answered about your audience. Without knowing your audience, the creation of who “you” are will not have any clear direction.

If you are a yoga instructor, your audience should be people learning yoga. Keep your target audience specific to what you are promoting. A lot of wasted effort is put on targeting to the wrong audience.

Selling Who “You” Are

With your foundation in place to sell who “you” are, now your focus on quality content becomes imperative. The common idea is to create as much content as possible, but the focus on quality gets lost in the numbers. Posting once per day is not the secret for success either.

You have to find what works with your audience.

Creating one minute videos is a great way to provide quality content. Grabbing the attention of users with short views into who “you” are. Allow your content to drive your audience.

People want to engage with content that is appealing to them. Make it easy for people to like you.

Boosting Who “You” Are

Having quality content is one part of the winning strategy. You have to also boost who “you” are through Facebook. The best way to boost yourself is to boost your content.

Do not listen to those who say boosting a post is not effective. If you utilize boosting correctly, it can be very beneficial.

Let me show you an example of a post I boosted for a Dollar-a-day.dollaradaypic

I boosted this post for nine days for one dollar per day. As you can see, my post got 2,116 engagements out of 4,251 people reached. Effectively my engagement rate is 50% giving me an excellent return on the nine dollars I spent. Amazingly, my CPR is less than one penny. Anything one cent or less is outstanding.

This post has Ryan Foland and Leonard Kim mentioned; both are very influential people with a large amount of authority. I chose to boost this post because my authority is strengthened by my name being alongside two influential people. I also targeted a broad audience, to allow this article to be seen by a wide variety of people.

Boosting Your Brand

Like the example post I boosted, you want to boost posts that will benefit your brand the most. If you have a post that gives kudos to another person of influence, you want to look into boosting because it will give your brand more authority.n

Use boosting to maximize your footprint as a brand. Think of paid impressions as employees of your business. You always want to try to find employees who benefit your business the most.
